FORK

Prepared 12 September 2026 · Hackathon: 13 September, 10:30 to 15:30 SGT

The software is prepared.
Live capture is still unverified.

Build tools, map generation software and separate Minecraft profiles are ready for tomorrow. All three machines are reachable, and the Desktop-to-Laptop media transfer works.

Installation and command-line checks passed. Minecraft login, the visible game launch, OBS game capture and microphone checks remain. No FORK gameplay or Singapore world has been built during this preparation.

The updated film brief specifies a fast, cinematic 90-second edit, 23 shots, a complete narration script and finished-video ownership. Project media and the final film remain build-window work.

What each machine has

MachinePrepared toolsTomorrow's role
Mini PCJava 25, Gradle 9.5.1, Node 24.14, Git, GitHub CLI, authenticated Codex CLI, Arnis 3.2.0 and FFmpeg 8.1.Coordinate agents, own Git and run source checks. About 22 GiB free before preparation; reserve large worlds and recordings for the other machines.
DesktopInstalled Temurin Java 25.0.4.1, Arnis 3.2.0 and FFmpeg 9.0.1. Verified Gradle 9.5.1 and Node 24.19. OBS 32.2.2 was already installed. AnyDesk 9.7.15 is installed; its unattended setup was deferred. Separate Minecraft/Fabric client and server prerequisites are prepared.Game runtime, accepted world generation and recording. RTX 4070 Ti SUPER confirmed. About 1.36 TiB free before preparation.
LaptopSelected its existing Temurin Java 25.0.3 and Gradle 9.5.1. Installed Arnis 3.2.0 and missing Minecraft files. OBS 32.0.1, DaVinci Resolve 21.0.3 and FFmpeg 9.0 already exist. Separate client and server prerequisites are prepared.Play, edit, narrate and verify received files. Can provide the planned local fallback after its actual game and capture checks.

Blender was already installed on Desktop and Laptop. The film remains based on actual Minecraft footage; a Blender reconstruction is not part of the build.

What actually passed

Build and installation

  • Java 25, its compiler and Gradle 9.5.1 execute on all three devices.
  • Arnis binaries match the official 3.2.0 SHA-256 and their command-line help runs.
  • The coordinator's pinned Acorn 8.18.0 dependency is cached on all three machines.
  • Both game machines have the official 26.1.2 client, 75 applicable library artifacts and 4,750 unique content-addressed assets checked.
  • Fabric Loader 0.19.3, Fabric API 0.150.0+26.1.2 and Carpet 26.1+v260402 are pinned. Separate server files are installed without starting a server.

Media and remote work

  • Desktop NVIDIA NVENC encoded a three-second 1920×1080, 30 fps H.264/AAC test.
  • Laptop encoded the same format using its software encoder.
  • Desktop-to-Laptop file transfer passed with identical SHA-256 at both ends.
  • Both machines completed hidden jobs after their launch SSH sessions ended, with Java 25 and Node available in those jobs.
  • A 90-second moving test pattern with generated audio encoded on Desktop in 5.55 seconds. Its 93 MB file transferred directly to Laptop in 53.26 seconds and decoded fully there in 16.55 seconds, with a matching hash.
  • Resolve on Laptop logged successful startup to its project manager. This does not establish playback or export performance.
  • The Laptop's stale Desktop SSH hostname was repaired. The new hostname uses the host key verified through the existing trusted Desktop connection.
  • Original Minecraft profiles and selection are preserved. A separate FORK prep 26.1.2 profile is registered on Desktop and Laptop with Java 25 and only the two dependency mods.

The three-second clips used a black frame and silence; the 90-second check used a moving test pattern and generated tone. These measurements cover codecs, transfer and background jobs in existing signed-in Windows sessions. They do not prove game frame rate, OBS capture, microphone quality, editor performance, final-film timing or recovery after logoff/reboot. No screens or microphones were recorded.

The remaining readiness checks

  1. Open the official Minecraft Launcher on Desktop and Laptop, confirm legitimate account access and launch FORK prep 26.1.2. The profile currently contains prerequisites, not the new FORK game.
  2. Open OBS on Desktop, select the actual game capture and audio sources, and record a short visible test. Play the received clip in the Laptop's editing application.
  3. GitHub plus video is accepted, as confirmed by the hosts through Lucas on 12 September. Keep the reuse ledger and apply any further host wording on preparation or Agent Arena reuse. The new game build and world generation still follow the event window.
  4. At execution, prepare the authorized source checkout and FORK derivative. Prove its provider integration and game loop using the runbook's early gates.

Lucas deferred remote sign-in on 12 September. The password prompt was closed and its launcher removed. No AnyDesk access password was configured. Preparation continues through SSH. Resolve startup was confirmed by its application log, but live game capture and editor playback remain unverified. Resume those checks when Lucas chooses to return to an interactive session; do not relaunch the password prompt or request sign-in again during this preparation.

For the Main agent

Remote Codex check, 13 September. Desktop has CLI 0.153.4 and Laptop has CLI 0.154.0. Both were reached over SSH, report an existing ChatGPT login and expose non-interactive execution and exact-session resume. Main is authorised to launch headless Codex workers on either machine during execution. The updated worker handoff defines worktrees, ownership, persistent jobs, logs and shared limits. No model turn or complete persistent Codex launch/resume was tested by these read-only checks; prove that route at the opening gate.

Each machine has a private %LOCALAPPDATA%\FORK-Tools folder containing exact executable paths, installation evidence and the build-shell helper. Begin each fresh PowerShell build session with:

. "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\FORK-Tools\Enter-ForkToolchain.ps1"

The hidden job route is verified with the existing signed-in Windows users. The temporary check tasks were removed. Private headless-check reports and Run-ForkHeadlessCheck.ps1 preserve the tested pattern. A tool returning a session ID means work is still running; wait for producer completion and the expected file hash before starting dependent work.

Use the project's Gradle wrapper for builds. Read toolchain.json, minecraft-readiness.json, media-readiness.json and final-prep-check.json on the appropriate game machine. Keep account files and private source out of transfers and published artifacts.

What this preparation does and does not establish

The reusable packages and codecs are installed. No new FORK source was compiled, no Agent Arena derivative was installed, no provider inference was called, no world was generated and no game server was started. The build schedule still needs its actual source, runtime, restore, capture and recipient checks.

The Desktop was woken at Lucas's request. No shutdown, sleep, firewall exposure or existing-world deletion was performed.
